Two tips to help you through the live televised coverage of the TDF

TDF fever. Yes, it's that time of the year.

Don't know about you but both Jodie and I will be missing out on a lot of sleep over the next three weeks.

Staying up late for the TDF will play havoc with your training and after the first two weeks you'll be too tired to add any your value to your riding.

Here are a few tips to help you out:

Tip #1: For the flatter stages go to bed a little earlier than you would normally and set the alarm clock to go off before the last 10-15 mins of the stage. That way you are able to get the maximum amount of sleep while still getting to see the best part of the race.

Tip #2: Ride short and fast. As you won't have as much time to train, switch your schedule to short and fast workouts either on the road or better still in your living room on your home trainer. You'll be able to recoup a heap of time doing this and ensure you maximise your viewing pleasure of the TDF without compromising your training.
