Weekly comments: Total of 243kms for the week. Being a
recovery week this week I have taken it very easy. I found this very
challenging though as you feel you should be working harder, but deep down you
know the benefits of taking it easy. On the Wednesday I felt a little
ordinary about half way into the ride so I backed right off and just cruised
home. The Sunday ride was meant to be a base ride but ended up just being a
recovery ride as I went out for the ride with a mate.
Race day was exciting though. I didn’t get in amongst
the placings but took another 49 seconds off my PB for a time of 41min 42sec. Since
starting this program I have taken a total of 2min and 23 seconds off my best
time from last year. I was hoping to break the 42 minute barrier by the end of
the season but have already done that, so I will now focus on getting under
41minutes.
