Greg came onto our remote cycle coaching program a few weeks ago and as you can see doesn’t have a lot of Ride options while living on this for two weeks out of four. No hills, head winds or flat roads to train on here.

Writing a program that fits all our cycling training sessions into his "limited" environment has been a lot of fun.

When he first came onto the program I asked him how he felt about sessions on the stationary cycle trainer. He said that he found them challenging as the time seemed to slow down.

One of the great things about our home trainer sessions is that they are so involved it keeps motivation and interest high. This wipes out boredom normally associated training on your own on a stationary cycle trainer.

Greg’s stationary cycle trainer also records power files which he downloads and sends to me. These are really great because we can both instantly see his improvement when we review them in our weekly one-on-one coaching hook-ups. I'm able to provide Greg with valuable feedback on his fitness progression while reviewing these training files.

Also, we can fine tune the cycling program with more detail than if he was just on heart rate alone… and watch his response to the training load with much more precision. This all makes in much more interesting for Greg.

Greg is a highly motivated cyclist and a pleasure to coach. I have no doubt that he’ll excel in his cycling in the coming months.
