Cycling-Inform results week ending 23 Oct 2011

I managed to get down to CCCC's Glenvale Criterium race this weekend to see the A and C grade race. Brendan, Harry and Danny were all there after a huge day of training the day before so we weren’t expecting any results. But... after a early break in which Harry and Danny were in was brought back, Brendan slipped off the front with a few others to ride away from the main field for the rest of the race. The break was almost caught with a final nail biting finish. Brendan placed 3rd in the final sprint finish. It was great to see the boys out and in their final preparation for the Melbourne to Warrnambool this coming Saturday.

Lisa Hanley was first woman in D grade and Stephanie Ives, first woman in B Grade. It was great to also see Greg Aidone and Dan Ives out there racing at Glenvale too.

Matt Bennett (pictured) was there racing around in C grade in the Cycling-Inform kit and managed to escape with the breakaway group of the day and finished strongly but missed out on any placing.

Damian Burke placed eighth in the Northern Mountain Goat classis in Broadford.

Andrew Weightman had a great day out at the Keith Esson Memorial Shepparton Classic along with Michael Hay.
