Final Position 3rd!!!!!  Finally I got a position!  I trained hard over the Christmas period, I even rode on Christmas Day and on the days that were 41 degrees – but those days were more a hunt for water taps than a training ride. 

The race went very well.  I rode tactically smarter and didn’t let guys push me to the front unless I wanted to go there.  I was able to stay with all the attacks and remained towards the front half of the bunch for most of the race.  The final corner I positioned myself in about 4th to 5th, and drafted a guy until closer to the line than the last race, popped out to get and retain 3rd place – closing in on 2nd… if the line was 5 metres later I would have had 2nd.   

Still I was ecstatic to get 3rd.  And the best part is I am sure I can improve more, because to be honest I forgot to get on the drops again… a bit annoyed at myself because that might have been the difference between 3rd and 2nd.
