Stage 21: Rivas - Madrid 110.2km
André Greipel from Columbia-HTC won the final stage, racking up four stage wins in this year’s event. Alejandro Valverde from Caisse d'Epargne finished with the yellow jersey on his shoulders. Cadel finished with the main contenders to secure his place on the podium. It is great that Cadel gets a podium finish on one grand tour this year. Well done, Cadel!
Cadel also placed 4th in the points classification and the combination classification.

David Millar from Garmin-Slipstream did what he does best and won the final time trial. Cadel rode strongly enough to finish third best which moved him into third place overall and a podium finish tomorrow.

Juan José Cobo from Fuji-Servetto won stage 19 over Alejandro Valverde and Cadel. Due to injury, Robert Gesink from Rabobank lost a lot of time, which moves Cadel into 4th place overall.

Irishman Philip Deignan from Cervélo TestTeam won stage 18, beating Roman Kreuziger from Liquigas in a two-up sprint. Cadel led the peloton over the line, but with Valverde on his wheel, he didn’t make any time on the overall.

Anthony Roux from Française des Jeux won stage 17, the last man from a 5-man breakaway, finishing just in front of the chasing peloton. The main contenders all finished on the same time so no change to the overall standings.

Lars Boom from Rabobank won stage 15 in a solo finish. He broke away from the group he was with on the final climb to finish 1’36 faster than the next rider. The main contenders finished on the same time, so no change to the overall standings.
