Peter Kirkham wins CCCC Criterium

It wasn’t that long ago that we were expecting Peter Kirkham to get a win. Now he's a happy racer after taking out his first win ever at Carnegie Caulfield’s Glenvale Crescent Criterium on the Sunday 16 March 2008. Having a strong headwind down the main straight he played the odds that the race would finish in a bunch sprint…  Making up a lot of places with a quick climb up the back straight and a couple more places on the little straight bit before the final 2 corners…  he sprinted really early and finished 3 bike lengths clear of the guy who came second! This gave him a 4th place in the Carnegie Caulfield Cycling Clubs Summer Series Leaderboard. With the promotion to B grade and the 10 points for the win he should be 3rd on the next leaderboard update! Well done Peter!
