Great cycling results from Cycling-Inform over the last two weeks
The Boys - James McArdle, Darren Sayers, Michael Fisher and Laurie Paltridge at Mansfield for the weekend's racing.
Results are rolling in from all around Australia. Just to cover off some from the last few weeks (I hope I haven't missed any so let me know if I have):
Jenny Sammons picked up a 3rd at the WA 40km ITT Championships - Wandi. Well done Jenny. That medal looks great!
Graham and Sue did really well at the NSW Masters Track Championships last week setting new PB's and Sue getting a silver in the Pursuit.
In the Mansfield Criterium Luke James (TEAM LSD) took out 1st in the B Grade plus the intermediate sprint, while James McArdle took out 1st in D grade along with the intermediate sprint. Michael Fisher was 4th in C grade.
Here is what Luke had to say about his race...
'Hey Guys. Very tough criterium race in B grade today for my first hit out for the season. Forty riders, seven corners and five crashes. Average hr rate of 190 bpm. Needed to stay top ten to avoid getting stretched out and dropped. Had to fight for mid race sprint but got it by a nose. Final lap saw top four riders hit the deck on the first corner. I fish tailed an avoided the crash. Drilled it home and took the win by 50m. Very happy and hopefully will set me up well for 2morrows big climb. Thanks to the boys at LSD, my coach Barny Barnett at Cycling Inform and to Schnell Wheels for giving me the fastest wheels in the peloton. Cheers"
In the Mansfield Mt Buller Road Race Carolyn Fraser placed 2nd in Women's B grade, Luke James places 7th and Andrew Weightman placed 10th in A Grade.
Brendan Rowbotham and Danny Kah pick up a 4th and 5th respectively at CCCC's Glenvale Criterium this weekend.
Carly Williams took out 1st woman in C grade at CCCC's Glenvale Criterium this weekend.
Jodie Batchelor (Team SKCC/Giant) rode an aggressive race to place 4th at the SKCC Crit this weekend and placed 1st woman in C Grade CCCC's Sandown on Tuesday and SVCC on Thursday.
Clare Dallat placed 13th in the 2011 Oceania Road Championships Elite Woman's Individual Road Time Trial and 36th in the Road Race.
Stephanie Ives placed 15th in the 2011 Oceania Road Championships Elite Woman's Individual Road Time Trial and 38th in the Road Race.
Mark Jasper took out a personal best time up the one in twenty climb over the weekend.
Manuela Marasco took out No.1 female for the Mt Donna Buang climb.
