Cycling-Inform coaching results report – week ending the 17 Apr 2011
Jenny Sammons (coached by David Heatley) gets first place for the 55-59 female category alongside Deb Visentin 2nd and Julia Emblin 3rd.
Big congratulations to Jenny (coached by David Heatley) and Bill (coached by David Sturt with altitude training support from David Heatley) at the UCI international tour and the first of the UWCT qualifying events encompassing both a time trial and a multi-lap road circuit through the Perth central business district this week. Jenny took out 1st place in the 55-59 female age group while Bill took out 1st place in the 50-54 men’s age group and 3rd overall in the Individual Time Trial event. Bill then went on to ride the road race and placed 3rd behind Paul Miller 1st and Michael Bonner 2nd after getting himself into the decisive seven man break. Both Jenny and Bill have qualified to race at the Masters Worlds later on this year. Well done!
At CCCC's Glenvale Darren Sayers took out 4th place behind Chris Boone 1st, Fabio Angelini 2nd and Jack Hickey 3rd.
At the Ventou Victorian Corporate Criterium Series Jodie Batchelor raced in the SKCC team, Amma Griffiths raced for the very strong Amy Gillett Foundation Team while Stephanie Ives, Manuela Marasco and Fran Medina raced for Cycling-Inform's first Woman's Team. Jenny McPherson took out both races while Amma took out 4th in the Criterium. Manuela Marasco then raced D grade at SVCC's Crib Point race on Sunday and took out first unplaced female.
