Developing your ability to sprint in a lot of cases will mean the difference between you consistently placing 4th and 5th to consistently winning.

Sprint efforts are usually performed as intervals of 30 seconds or less. This is no different on the home trainer. You'll need a robust and stable trainer to perform these efforts because they are undertaken at maximum power.

Generally you'll need to learn and adapt to them before you can perform them all out so they do take some practice. It's also important that you pace yourself for efforts that are longer than 10 seconds keeping in mind that you still want to go all out.

This article covers off a workout that you can do that will develop your sprint.
