We received this via e-mail from Gen at the World Classic in Bunninyong. - thanks Gen.

Well I don't mind what I see from here on in with the Worlds, as we had some unforgettable moments with Spartacus.

The Masters girls and a few hubbies were having coffee around the official area near the start of both the womens and mens elite races yesterday. The women had finished and were cooling down and wandering about for food and drinks. Aussies ......Ruth Corset was limping and Bridie O'Donnell shaking her sore hand after both crashing. Ina Teutenberg, the German tank, was quiet for a change and off for a cool down ride with her team. None of the Internationals had wind trainers there. Sharon Laws (British team) stopped for a chat and was smiling....only 5 secs off the pace of the breakaway at the finish and quite pleased with her efforts to come back close to the winning group in this lead up race. I never heard so much heaving from her, chasing the lead group up Buninyong hill.....oh so fast. The absolute local champion was Joanne Hogan (SKCC and now VIS) coming in 10th....all smiles and was able to congratulate her personally.

But then the male racing eye candy started going to the official loos (we were banned from using these...trailer loos for us.....listen up Delhi) 15mins before their race start, and we were perfectly positioned in the walk way. Well the legs were lean and tanned...Polish, Italian, German, Canadian and of course the Swiss. Marian Renshaw corrects me and says it's all in the bum .....look at their bums. Well I guess she knows for sure. Then John Trevorrow pops his head out of the doorway, beer in hand and says 'in here'...... who is he calling.....Cancellara......but he is not walking..... he is on his bike.....and leaves it outside the doorway. Sue and I take position and I lift it up.....(and I am a Specialized girl) max 7 kg and just beautifully fitted out....with extras like world champion stripes and olympic rings. Then I thought better not touch....just guard and take photos. Nicest touch was a gold emblem on his saddle with Spartacus written around the edge of the circle....right where he would place his left glute. Then a lovely touch was a metal badge placed at the front of his top stem with a couple of dice on it.....obviously a good luck item or encouragement to himself to always have a crack! Ha! Anyway Cancellara's minder, a short elderly Swiss gent noticed the crowd laughing at us girls drooling and taking photos, and came and moved the bike up the path....so then we stood in the pathway and waited for the man. He is a 'giant' relatively to other cyclists, really solid and tall and oh such a baby face. Still wearing the Saxobank jersey, but assos knicks...Marian was right....it's all in the rear end.
